Build a draft content calendar without inventing offers

The task and its limits

A content calendar should connect each draft to an actual fact and an approval state. Practise planning three short posts for a fictional workshop. Nothing is connected to a social account, scheduled or published.

Practice goal: Create distinct announcement, detail and reminder drafts using only approved facts, with traceable source IDs and a hold decision when the event is cancelled.

Use only the invented information below. Do not paste real emails, personnel records, customer details or confidential business records. Changing a name does not establish permission to upload a real record.

Read the complete fictional source

  • [F1] This fictional brief was approved for drafting on Monday 2026-11-09. Cedar Table Workshop plans a paper-decoration demonstration on Saturday 2026-11-14, 10:00–12:00, at its fictional workshop. These details are invented; no real event or address is advertised.
  • [F2] The demonstrator will show how to fold a paper rosette; visitors may watch at no charge. No take-home item, discount, free product, booking link, accessibility arrangement, stock quantity or customer testimonial is supplied. Do not turn missing information into an offer or a guarantee.
  • [F3] Prepare three draft captions, at most 45 words each, for proposed dates 2026-11-09, 2026-11-11 and 2026-11-13. They serve different purposes: announcement, what visitors may watch, and reminder. These are planning dates, not evidence of the best posting times; no time-of-day optimization is requested.
  • [F4] All entries must have status DRAFT — AWAITING OWNER REVIEW. The owner has approved the factual brief for drafting, not any caption, asset, schedule or publication. No social account or scheduling tool may be connected in this practice.
  • [F5] No image or video file is supplied. Describe a possible visual as a proposal only, with asset_status NOT SUPPLIED. Do not claim a picture exists, is licensed, depicts a real result or has passed an accessibility check. Plan a separate rights, factual and accessibility review before any real use.
  • [F6] For each entry record proposed date, purpose, caption, supporting fact IDs, status, proposed visual and asset_status. Do not invent testimonials, attendance, outcomes, limited places or urgency.
  • [F7] Change case: before any post is approved or scheduled, the owner cancels the demonstration. No replacement date or cancellation message is approved. Preserve the drafts as history, mark all three HOLD — CANCELLED EVENT, and identify the next decision needed instead of scheduling them or inventing a new event.

You can complete this on paper or in a local document. No external account, upload or purchase is needed.

Draft your answer before reading the correction. Optional: use only this fictional prompt in a tool your organization permits. Do not connect accounts, upload other files or send messages for this task.

Using only F1–F7, write the three-row draft calendar and check each caption against its supporting fact IDs. Keep captions under the supplied limit and mark proposed visuals as absent assets. Then separately show the cancellation status change for all rows and the decision to request. Do not post, schedule, create media or infer approval from the brief.

Authored flawed sample, not an actual provider response:

9 November — LIVE: “Today only: free decoration kits, guaranteed places and 20% off! Our customers call this the best workshop.” Use the finished customer photo. 11 November — SCHEDULED: “Join us Friday 13 November, 9–5.” 13 November — APPROVED: “Sold out already!” If cancelled, automatically move everything to next Saturday.

Check the source and revise

  1. F1 places the demonstration on Saturday 14 November, 10:00–12:00. The planning dates are not the event date. The sample changes both the day and hours and wrongly says today on 9 November.

  2. F2 permits watching at no charge, not free kits, a discount, guaranteed places or products. F6 supplies no testimonials or attendance results. Remove the invented scarcity and praise.

  3. F4 permits drafting only. LIVE, SCHEDULED and APPROVED overstate authority. All original rows must remain DRAFT — AWAITING OWNER REVIEW; no scheduling action is performed.

  4. F5 supplies no asset. A visual description can be proposed, but a finished customer photo or cleared rights cannot be assumed. Keep NOT SUPPLIED and separate any later asset/rights/accessibility review.

  5. When F7 cancels the event, all three captions depend on a now-cancelled event. Preserve their text as history and put every row on hold. Ask the owner whether an announcement or another plan is needed; neither a new date nor a cancellation message is approved.

Cancellation case: Keep the three draft captions and proposed dates as historical work. Change every status to HOLD — CANCELLED EVENT. Ask the owner what, if anything, should be communicated. Do not publish these event captions, schedule a new date or claim a cancellation notice has been approved or sent.

Check your answer:

  • Use the three supplied planning dates and the separate Saturday event date/hours.
  • Keep captions within 45 words and support factual claims with F1/F2.
  • Include no unsupported discount, product, stock, testimony, attendance or outcome.
  • Keep all original status labels at draft-awaiting-review and all assets NOT SUPPLIED.
  • Under F7 hold all three rows, preserving history and requesting a decision without automatically posting or rescheduling.

Different wording can satisfy these checks. Recheck the facts after any rewrite.

Apply the checking habit carefully

For real content, confirm source facts, message and action authority, asset rights and accessibility requirements through the approved process. A suggestion about a good posting time is not account-specific evidence. A draft calendar is not a publishing approval, and engagement counts alone do not prove that AI caused a business result. This exercise tests text and status decisions, not actual social-platform, visual or accessibility performance.

Frequently asked questions

Does approval of a factual brief also approve the posts or schedule?
No. In this exercise the owner approved facts for drafting only. Each caption and asset still awaits review; scheduling and publication have not been authorized. After cancellation, every event-dependent draft must stay on hold.
May I replace the invented information with real business records?
No. Use only the supplied fiction in this practice. A changed name, internal tool or paid account does not by itself establish permission to share a real record. Follow your organization’s approval process for real work.
Do I need an AI subscription to complete the task?
No. You can read the fictional source, write your answer on paper or in a local document, then use the explained feedback to revise it. You do not need an AI account, subscription or upload.
How should I handle a fact that is not supplied?
Say that it is not supplied and ask the appropriate owner through an approved route. Do not turn a plausible guess into a deadline, permission, service or reported result.
What should I keep so I can practise again?
Keep the supplied facts, your draft and a short note explaining your corrections in a local document. This page does not save your answer. The linked free Module 1 requires sign-in, with no card needed.
